Max and Elsies

FAQ's

Will my dog get dirty?

Depending on your dog’s activity level he/she may get dirty while playing as Max & Elsie’s. Like people sometimes you get dirty when you’re having fun. Doggie wrestling may leave what we call “dog slime” on a dogs fur. We offer a full service spa so you can pick up our dog clean and soft.

What about a dog that’s never been away from home?
We highly recommend a few short days of doggy daycare before the actual overnight stay.  This will help he/she get acclimated to our environment and reduce anxiety and stress.
Do you offer discounts for extended stays?
Dogs staying 14-20 nights get a 15% discount
Dogs staying 21-29 nights get a 20% discount
Are the dogs left alone when playing?
No, the dogs are supervised while playing.  In appropriate play is stopped and good behavior is rewarded.
I’ve heard that your facility is different. What does that mean?
Max & Elsie’s offer all day doggie daycare for all our overnight guests.  They get plenty of exercise while here.  We only take up to 30-35 dogs for overnight stays so we can spend time with all of the dogs.
Why should I consider doggy daycare?
Daycare offers busy dog owners the option of giving their dogs a day of action-packed play rather than boredom alone at home.
How often should my dog come to daycare?
We recommend a minimum of one visit per week.  This will give your dog time to establish a relationship with us and the daycare pack.
Do you separate the dogs by breed, sex, size, age?
We may separate dogs by activity level or have a small breed only play group.
Can senior dogs benefit from daycare?
Yes, we have cots inside for your older dog to lounge around if needed but still be able to socialize with the others at his or her own pace.
What about naptime?
We encourage all dogs to take a nap around mid-day to ensure they do not become overtired or cranky while at play.
Why do the dogs for daycare and lodging need to be spayed or neutered?
Intact dogs are at greater risk of injury from the other dogs.  In a social environment, intact males are viewed as a threat by other dominant dogs.  Intact females, whether in heat or not, may be picked on by other females and male dogs will see her as an intact female and treat her as such.
